Hello, I'm Anne

Starting therapy—especially after betrayal or narcissistic abuse—can feel intimidating, uncertain, or even unsafe. Many people come in carrying fear, hesitation, or the worry that they will be misunderstood or blamed. If that’s you, you’re not alone—and you don’t need to have anything figured out before we begin.

You do not need to know what to say, where to start, or how to “do therapy correctly.” My role is to meet you exactly where you are. We move at a pace that feels manageable, and nothing is forced or rushed.

Therapy with me is not about reliving trauma before you’re ready or being pushed into decisions you’re unsure about. We begin by focusing on safety, stability, and trust—both in the therapeutic space and within yourself. You are always in control of what you share, when you share it, and how deep we go.

It’s also okay if you feel confused, numb, angry, ashamed, or unsure whether what you experienced “counts” as abuse or trauma. These reactions are common after prolonged emotional harm. You do not need to prove your pain or justify why you’re seeking support.

Warmly,

Anne

Recovery is all about you

I am a therapist specializing in betrayal trauma and narcissistic abuse recovery. I work with individuals who have been deeply impacted by relational trauma—often in relationships where trust was violated, reality was distorted, and emotional safety was repeatedly undermined.

At the core of my work is a simple belief: nothing is “wrong” with you. Your symptoms are not character flaws or weaknesses; they are intelligent responses to prolonged stress, betrayal, manipulation, and loss of safety. I do not pathologize survival.

I believe betrayal trauma and narcissistic abuse cause profound nervous system injury. Healing, therefore, is not about “letting go,” “forgiving,” or trying harder to cope. It is about restoring safety, rebuilding self-trust, and helping your body and mind come out of survival mode at a pace that honors your lived experience.

In my practice, I operate from a trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and empowerment-based framework. I prioritize:

  • Truth and validation over minimization or gaslighting

  • Stabilization and safety before deep processing

  • Choice, consent, and pacing in all therapeutic work

  • Education so you understand what happened to you and why your reactions make sense

I recognize that many clients coming from narcissistic or exploitative relationships have been harmed not only by partners or family members, but also by systems and professionals who dismissed, misdiagnosed, or blamed them. I work intentionally to create a space where your reality is respected and your voice is central.

I do not pressure clients to reconcile, forgive, confront, or “see the other side.” My role is not to tell you what decision to make, but to help you reconnect with your own clarity, boundaries, and inner authority—often after those capacities were systematically eroded.

Healing from betrayal and narcissistic abuse is not linear, and it is not quick. But it is possible. My work is grounded in the belief that with the right support, education, and safety, people can reclaim their sense of self, rebuild trust from the inside out, and move forward with strength, discernment, and self-compassion.
